the release of imaginaerum followed world tour, named imaginaerum world tour. tour started in los angeles on january 21, 2012. finnish metal band amorphis supported nightwish on portion of tour. european leg of tour began on march 2, 2012 in joensuu, finland. when tour returned north america following european leg of tour, nightwish supported kamelot.


during tour, singer anette olzon fell ill @ show in denver on september 28, 2012. elize ryd , alissa white-gluz, back-up singers kamelot, stepped in perform show. after denver show, nightwish posted following message on facebook page: in hell [yesterday]. vocalist in hospital. show canceled... nobody gave inch. ladies elize , alissa kamelot, managed pull of relaxed , great show! crowd doing mass karaoke band playing absolutely amazing. humbled , grateful @ same time. unity , friends , fans. 2 days later, olzon let go band floor jansen being called finish tour in place. jansen announced new lead singer of nightwish in october 2013.
