cyprus has been 1 of pioneering countries in recognising armenian genocide, when on 25 january 1965 foreign minister spyros kyprianou first raised issue general assembly of united nations. prior powerful speech, delegation comprising arf dashnaktsoutiun bureau members dr. papken papazian , berj missirlia, armenian national committee of cyprus members anania mahdessian , vartkes sinanian, handed him memorandum urging cyprus support in raising issue @ united nations.
