after opium introduced china, snuff bottles became popular. chinese royalties addicted them, used opium long-life medicine. design of snuff bottles flourished because of money rich poured industry. many of these bottles made talented artisans using tiny paints brushes; painted inside of bottle, reaching down top of narrow neck. still highly collectible day.
