as result of ukrainian–soviet war (1917–1921) , polish–soviet war (1919–1921) right-bank ukraine, including village, captured red army.


after treaty on creation of ussr in 1922, village came popilnia raion of zhytomyr okruha of ukrainian soviet socialist republic.


there names of 101 victims of holodomor 1932-1933 ascertained on basis of stories of eyewitnesses s. babych, p. vilchynska, y. zavadska, s. monastyretsky , s. sokyrko.


since formation of zhytomyr oblast in 1937, village has belonged it.


during political repression in soviet union, in great purge, lot of villagers being executed or deported. ethnic ukrainian families: babych, blinkevych, ivaniuk, kyianchuk, mozharivsky, savchuk, syvkovych, tkach, vazytsky, vitkivsky , polish families: baladinski, czopiwski, dimovicz, drenczik, kaszperski, mozarowski, rowinski, rudnicki, smogorzewski, werpachowski, wilczinski, zawadski subjected repression.


many villagers conscripted red army , killed during winter war (soviet-finnish war 1939-1940).


during nazi occupation of 1941-1943 village in ruzhyn gebiet of zhytomyr general okruha (uk) of reichskommissariat ukraine.


150 villagers fought in red army in world war ii, 82 of them died , 63 awarded orders , medals. in 1954, monument fallen soldiers erected.
