history
formation , forbidden drama (2006–2008)

in 2006, dan byron began writing later become byron s debut release. band assembled later year, guitarist costin oprea being first join in september. keyboard player 6fingers (also in gothic metal band magica) recruited afterwards, followed cristi mateşan on drums. complete line-up, band joined bass player gyergyay szabi szabolcs, freshly returned budapest. rehearsals start in october 2006 , band takes stage first time on 1 december - sold-out gig @ lăptăria enache, 1 of bucharest s famed live music venues. noteworthy later gigs include art & aids bucharest, stufstock 2007 @ vama veche, , special concept - 3-band, 3-venues simultaneous concert held timpuri noi , trupa veche.

the debut album, forbidden drama, structured in acts, theater drama, finished in september – victor panfilov musical producer, mixing , mastering @ real sound studio, bucharest. album manufactured , distributed romanian label a&a records. forbidden drama has been released on october 12, 2007, @ fabrica club in bucharest, followed month-long national promotion tour (forbidden tour).

acoustic drama (2008–2009)

in january 2008, bassist gyergyay szabolcs quits band due personal reasons , replaced jacob glick. in line-up, on april 3, 2008, band played special unplugged show @ teatru 74, unconventional theater venue in medieval citadel of târgu mureş. old songs, couple of new ones, rearranged full unplugged performance featuring instruments such 7 different guitars, banjo, mandolin, cajón, upright bass, acoustic bass, string quartet , piano. concert featured several guests, notably alexandru andrieş , paula seling.

the show recorded , released live dvd acoustic drama in october 2008, first unplugged dvd ever released romanian band. there no later overdubs in studio, band wanted acoustic experience natural possible. dvd contains 14 songs, photo gallery, video blow tears single (directed , shot oleg mutu, edited victor panfilov) , many making of features. notable song departe , translated version of far away off forbidden drama, romanian lyrics provided alexandru andrieş.

the dvd released special unplugged show @ palatul copiilor in bucharest, followed national tour spanning 4 major cities - sibiu, târgu mureş, iaşi , cluj. tour, band hooked sponsors nokia, promoting new multimedia smartphones nokia nseries. special website created, fans record live experiences , follow band toured country. several videos uploaded on youtube, featuring tour performances recorded nseries phones.

a kind of alchemy (2009-2010)

in october 2009 band released second album, kind of alchemy. release marks evolution in band’s sound, blues, progressive , funk influences, employing wider diversity of instruments. in dan byron s words, mood nocturnal, rather intimate, playful or exuberant . 14 new songs came in 7-inch-wide (180 mm) illustrated book, graphic aspect important music.

in june 2010, band applied creative commons by-nc-nd 3.0 license on first , second studio albums can downloaded freely blog.

perfect , live underground (2011-2012)

perfect released on february 17, 2011, @ silver church club in bucharest (with special guest - grimus band). feature of album consists of covers byron made of songs played other romanian artists (kumm, luna amară, timpuri noi etc.), , lyrics totally on romanian language. in october 2011, band has released video fifth track album - granița-n raniță (directed mattia molini, 5 days, in new york).

on november 26-27, 2010, byron played in salina turda (turda salt mine) second dvd, live underground. there 2 different live shows: first unplugged concert, without spectacors, @ terezia mine, , second electric - in amphitheatre @ rudolf mine. special guests joined band, such nicu alifantis, maria ioana mântulescu, rene popescu , alexandru gorneanu. dvd released on may 3, 2012, participation of hbo romania. has released on blu-ray (limited edition).

in june 2012, band released official application android , ios let others latest news , exclusive content them.

in january 2013, byron announced 4th album, working title long story short. afterwards changed 30 seconds of fame innuendo on andy warhol s famous expression 15 minutes of fame. album released on march 16 , first byron s album, has identical romanian version, called 30 de secunde de faimă.

after that, band working music producer adam balazs soundtrack of original hbo romania series rămâi cu mine (stay me). ost album called melancolic released on february 2014.
