peter private - large under construction tender locomotive built copy of isambard kingdom brunel in railways own workshops.
royal scot built in 1938 bassett-lowke, , 10 ⁄4 in (260 mm) royal scot made them. worked @ hastings miniature railway , oakhill manor railway before being exported usa. re-imported in 2002.

diesel

maurice major first engine on railway, built p.bowers , e.laugnly in 1994/5. powered 3-cylinder kubota diesel engine.
d1001 western independence built david curwen in 1964 railway @ margate pier. powered 4-litre perkins diesel engine. replaced, 3-cylinder kubota engine , hydraulic drive.
d1002 western explorer designed david curwen, engine built in 1965 brooklands miniature railway @ brooklands park in worthing. upon change of ownership engine went joe nemeth restored use on berkley light railway. when line changed hands, engine bought rvr in part restored condition. engine has same system western independace.
d1011 western thunderer built david curwen in 1964 audley end railway. engine driven famous racing driver stirling moss open line. has original ford slide valve engine, intention replace in line other diesel locomotives.

ex-locomotives

ivor 0-4-0 saddle tank, owned private individual , no longer based on rvr.
sir walter gower built walter gower, engine ran on orchard farm railway in yorkshire. rvr bought engine, , never used, being sold after.
claude colonel built p.bowers during 1999/2000, steam outline bo-bo 3-cylinder kubota, , hydraulic system. engine resides in scotland.
arctic prince mardyke hymek locomotive, owned private individual , no longer based on rvr.
st albans comet, named western courier ran @ basildon miniature railway. locomotive bought private individual , based @ rvr short time before returning basildon on loan.
lynton 2-4-4 tinkerbell class tank engine, built narogauge ltd 7.25. operated @ moors valley , bowlease railway before being regauged , operating on portable pilgrims line. locomotive privately owned volunteer.
un-named arrived @ same time lynton in part constructed state. engine resident in carriage works of mid hants railway @ ropley. intention complete build , use on own miniature railway.
royal scot second royal scot built marquess of downshire. first 1 imported usa. restoration had begun, locomotive sold before run @ railway.
