in 1999 dynacraft voluntarily recalled 3,000 magna great divide, 21- speed mountain bikes, sold in 24-inch size girls , boys, , 26-inch size women , men. bikes have defective handle bar stems not tighten sufficiently lock onto bicycles. can cause front wheel not turn properly, resulting in serious injuries rider falls. dynacraft stated not aware of injuries or incidents involving these bicycles. bikes have model number on left side of seat post. girls bikes have model number 8504-50 , purple. boys bikes have model number 8504-51 , blue. women s bikes have model number 8547-84 , purple. men s bikes have model number 8547-85 , black. words great divide located on cross-tubes of these bicycles , word kalloy located on handlebar stems. fred meyer stores in alaska, arizona, idaho, oregon, utah , washington sold these bikes december 1998 through august 18, 1999.

during 2003, dynacraft voluntarily recalled 52,900 bmx bicycles stems loosen during use, causing riders lose control , fall. dynacraft received 35 reports of stems loosening on these bicycles, resulting in 1 report of injury (a broken finger). recall includes 2 models of 20-inch bmx bicycles. next voltage-model bicycles metallic green, have model number 8535-99 , manufactured between march 2002 , june 2002. vertical street blade-model bicycles dark blue , chrome colored, have model number 8527-99 , manufactured between march 2002 , april 2002. wal-mart stores sold next voltage-model bicycles nationwide, including puerto rico, may 2002 through november 2002. pamida stores sold vertical street blade-model bicycles nationwide april 2002 through april 2003.
