construction of burano preserved facade of former samuel mclaughlin s mclaughlin motor car showroom, two-storey heritage building designated in 1999 under ontario heritage act. built in 1925 r.s. mclaughlin building, gothic revival building 1 of first automobile dealerships in toronto, , remained continuously occupied car dealerships eighty-two years. despite long history, use ended part of reorganization , consolidation of car dealership industry in canada.


due soft soil @ site, , facilitate excavation, historic facade dismantled , stored off-site during construction of seven-floor underground garage. after garage , foundation appropriate fifty floors above ground completed, facade reconstructed, incorporating important heritage components.


the historic building marked plaque, placed in 2013 heritage toronto.
