early career

elrich played youth football @ number of clubs, including parramatta eagles in nsw premier youth league, australian institute of sport , sydney olympic in nsw premier league.


newcastle united jets
2006–2012

elrich debuted in a-league during 2005–06 season, made 3 league appearances. elrich again made handful of league appearances (five) during 2006–07 season newcastle finished in third place on a-league ladder. scored first a-league goal in 2007–08 season during newcastle s 3–2 preliminary final extra-time win against queensland roar on 17 february 2008. elrich scored in 111th minute. newcastle went on beat central coast mariners 1–0 in final , qualify 2009 afc champions league. during 2007–08 season, elrich faced brother, ahmad elrich, in 2–1 home victory against wellington phoenix on 14 october 2007.


elrich scored first goal of 2008–09 season in 2–2 home draw against wellington phoenix on 6 october 2008. 1 month later, scored second goal of 2008–09 season in 2–2 away draw against perth glory on 9 november 2008. having increased appearances during 2007–08 season , 2008–09 season, attracted attention of then, australian national team coach pim verbeek, included elrich in 2011 afc asian cup qualification match in january 2009. elrich debuted in 2009 afc champions league in 2–0 away defeat against beijing guoan on 10 march. scored first afc champions league goal in 1–1 away draw against nagoya grampus on 7 april, scoring first goal of game after 9 minutes. elrich participated in of newcastle s group stage fixtures finished in second position of respective group. newcastle qualified knockout stages eliminated in round of 16 in 6–0 away defeat pohang steelers on 24 june.


elrich went on make 29 league appearances during 2009–10 season, received first red card in 90th minute of 2–1 away defeat sydney on 20 september 2009. during 2011–12 season, elrich received second a-league red card in 53rd minute of 2–1 way defeat melbourne victory on 7 january 2012. on 1 month later, elrich scored goal in 39th minute of 1–0 home victory against adelaide united on 24 february 2012. newcastle finished season in 7th position of a-league ladder 35 points. @ conclusion of 2011–12, perth glory , sydney expressed interest in signing elrich newcastle did not offer extension contract.

it confirmed on 25 june 2012 elrich had signed western sydney 2012–13 season. 1 of club s first 3 signings, along aaron mooy , kwabena appiah-kubi.


elrich, along teammates dino kresinger, joey gibbs , rocky visconte released wanderers @ conclusion of 2012–13 a-league season.


adelaide united
2013–present

following limited success wanderers, elrich signed adelaide united 2013-14 season. won first silverware adelaide part of 2014 ffa cup winning side.


in 2014-15 a-league season, elrich scored fantastic solo goal against melbourne city in 4-1 win pundits claiming goal worthy of yearly puskas award. after fantastic season @ right-back reds, selected in 2014-2015 pfa team of year.


in recognition of run of form, elrich awarded 2-year contract extension on 29 september 2015 running through 2017-18 a-league season.
