2006

in 2006 regular season bearcats went undefeated @ 11–0. in third playoff game, game played against bloomsburg university, espnu televised game live maryville. first nationally televised game bearcat stadium. game first time temporary lights (provided espn) used @ bearcat stadium, lights having been removed in 1977. bearcats went 3–0 in playoffs, earning rematch against grand valley state university lakers in ncaa division ii national championship game @ florence, alabama, on december 16, 2006. bearcats fell gvsu 17–14 after turning ball on 4 times during game.

2007

in 2007 regular season bearcats went 9–1. loss #1 university of nebraska @ omaha, went 12–0 in regular season. bearcats received first round bye. in second round, faced #3 west texas a&m university @ bearcat stadium, , won final score of 56–28. in quarterfinals bearcats traveled chadron, nebraska face #1 chadron state college. xavier omon lead bearcats 26–13 victory rushing personal best 309 yards (283 m). bearcats faced long-time post-season rivals grand valley state university in semifinals. both grand valley , northwest #2 seeds in respective regions, ncaa stated due northwest s strength of schedule, northwest receive home game. game broadcast bearcat stadium on espn2; second nationally televised game bearcat stadium. game close through third quarter. @ beginning of fourth quarter northwest lead close contest, 17–16. after northwest interception produced touchdown, , 98-yard (90 m) xavier omon touchdown run, bearcats prevailed final score of 34–16, ending grand valley s ncaa record-setting 40-game winning streak. bearcats lost #8 valdosta state university in ncaa division ii football national championship @ 12pm (eastern) on saturday december 15, 2007 in florence, alabama; game broadcast on espn2.

2013

northwest won fourth title in 2013 defeating lenoir-rhyne bears 43–28. first bearcat national championship game not coached mel tjeerdsma, retired after losing in semi finals in 2010. succeeded adam dorrel had been tjeerdsma during entire tenure @ northwest including tjeerdsma s initial 0–11 team in 1994. tjeerdsma came out of retirement in 2013 become northwest s athletic director. bearcats undefeated 11–0 in regular season , won 4 playoff games. game last title game @ braly stadium in alabama. miaa, sparked success of northwest , pittsburg, bid host championship games starting in 2014 @ children s mercy park in kansas city, kansas 100 miles south of northwest campus.

2015

northwest took on shepherd rams @ children s mercy park in kansas city, kansas on december 19. game bearcats ninth appearance in national title game , first @ new site in kansas city. northwest took home fifth national title since 1998, second under head coach adam dorrel, defeating shepherd 34–7.

2016

northwest played university of north alabama 2016 division ii championship. bearcats 10th appearance in national title game , second trip title game in kansas city. northwest missouri state picked sixth title when bearcats defeated north alabama, 29-3.
