Plot Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic

the movie separated several parts. each chapter animated different styles. these vary in degree of difference , depict dante differing features, such hair length, bodily proportions, , armor.

the film starts dante s return third crusade. speaking in inner monologue, describes forests gloomy , worse death. can detect following him, each time tries approach, pursuer vanishes. upon arriving, finds servants slain, father dead , beloved fiancee beatrice lying on ground, dying of stab wound stomach. dies, turns spirit , begins ascend heaven. however, disguised shadow, lucifer takes beatrice through gates of hell.

after being carried geryon, virgil parts ways dante upon entering realm of fraud, eighth circle, telling him needs cross continuous series of several large bridges in order stop marriage of beatrice , lucifer beyond far end of bridges. dante starts crossing, begins reflect upon own sins. realizes father, family servants , beatrice slain husband of woman whom had been unfaitful beatrice , blames deaths on himself. beatrice gives in sorrow of dante s betrayal, wedding lucifer , becoming demon, losing wings , rights heaven. body entirely becoming entirely flaming, beatrice proceeds attack dante, overpowering him , forces him on greatest sin, letting him peer ninth circle of treachery. cardinal sin had been allowing brother willingly take blame slaughtering of heretic prisoners. overwhelmed grief, presents beatrice cross, had promised give upon return crusade. relents begs forgiveness , pleads once again accept love of god, , forgives him, causing return previous angelic form kisses him. two-headed angel descends heaven take her. beatrice promises soon, in order escape hell need face lucifer alone.

descending final circle, cold caverns of traitors, , after wandering in dark comes across large cave filled huge frozen chains blocking path , thenmows through them, encounter three-faced demon in center appears lucifer s corporeal form. lucifer, having been freed rending chains, attacks dante. dante slays beast , within short span of escaping hell , entering purgatory, salvation awaits. lucifer however, freed previous frozen form reveals true corporeal form, breaks free false body , overpowers dante, promising enter purgatory, , paradise, rend heaven new , greater hell. dante realizes cannot stop lucifer on own. dante prays , repents in humility , begs divine forgiveness , sacrifice own soul defeat lucifer , prevent him sworn conquest of higher realms, pleading power trap lucifer him forever. lucifer runs in shocked horror, trying stop dante making pact; however, stopped explosive beam of light, emanating dante, freezes stop , freezes lucifer solid.

free move on, dante dives chasm leads through earth purgatory beatrice. neither living, nor dead puts it. later night flesh-emblem of sin ripped off chest transforms serpent, supposedly lucifer waiting revenge, slithers away distance.
