the prime minister may dismissed president @ time @ president s own discretion. chairman may tender resignation president on own initiative. president may reject such resignation , oblige him work further. prime minister , whole government constitutionally obliged resign after inauguration of newly elected president. resignation of prime minister automatically means resignation of whole government body.


under circumstances, president may theoretically forced dismiss chairman , whole government under pressure of state duma. happen state duma has pass censure motion against government twice within 3 months. normally, in case president has right choose whether sack government or dissolve duma (and if duma passes censure motion once, president may choose not agree decision of duma, technically means neither cabinet nor duma dismissed).


however, within 1 year parliamentary elections dissolution of duma impossible on these grounds. why in case president not have other option dismiss government (even if totally supports it). however, president theoretically free appoint same person acting head of cabinet indefinite period of time should finding compromise parliament turn out impossible.
