the redskins re-signed him one-year contract on march 17. 2014. on august 25, 2014, few days after redskins third preseason game, meriweather suspended 2 games due illegal hit on baltimore ravens wide receiver torrey smith. in week 8 win against dallas cowboys, had standout performance. in overtime victory, recorded 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, , fumble recovery after cornerback bashaud breeland stripped demarco murray.
