biography
wallace graduated los angeles sheriff s explorer academy in 1978. there went on pursue career in arts, earning bachelor’s degree in design california state university @ long beach , master s degree in architecture university of california, los angeles (ucla). in 1988, wallace returned law enforcement, attending los angeles sheriff s academy recruit torrance (ca) police department. during law enforcement career, wallace served on number of assignments, including swat, gang detail, , robbery homicide. 1 of founding members of torrance police department s cold-case homicide unit.
investigative work
as homicide detective, wallace has investigated number of high-profile cold-case murders. cases have been featured on dateline (nbc) , north mission road (trutv). founding member of torrance police department cold-case homicide unit, wallace earned sustained superiority award south bay police , fire medal of valor committee. won 2015 california peace officer association copswest award best solved cold case.
conversion christianity
in 1996, wallace became christian (previously having been atheist) @ age of 35, after investigating gospels potential eyewitness accounts life of jesus. wallace joined staff of saddleback church, while continuing serve cold-case homicide detective. later enrolled in golden gate baptist theological seminary, earning master’s degree in theological studies.
