dormitory hospital corpsmen

the dormitory hospital corpsmen, building 443 two-story brick veneer building basement. building measures 115 56 feet (35 17 m) in rectangular shape 2 projecting bays on either side of central entry. building clad in reddish-brown brick running bond pattern. between upper , lower windows decorative brick pattern in form of square surrounds small cast stone inset. above entry wood double french door semi-circular fanlight , wrought iron balcony railing. gable walls meet roof in classical form of broken pediment.

building 491 1 of 2 surviving buildings of naval hospital reservation @ shipyard. building 491 built sick officers quarters. next hospital , connected via tunnel. building 491 reflects federal style.

officer s quarters(v) 2 story brick structure, measuring 89 56 feet (27 17 m) attic , basement. multi-plex building 4 residences. has jerkinhead style roof hip roof dormers. building shows georgian flat arches of brick limestone keystones , sills. main entry door wood , glass set semi-circular arched opening. doorway palladian motif central door , side lights.

the residence single floors spaces 2 units upstairs , 2 down. upstairs units reached common stairway. residential entries marble terrazzo insets, general flooring fir; , walls plaster on wood lath. glass french doors separate living room dining room. there 9 feet (2.7 m) ceilings throughout , fireplace of brick, quarry tile hearth , simple wood mantle.

officer’s quarters

the commanding officer of naval hospital reservation quarters built in 1923. in 1990, remained quarters hospital commander. building has formal federal design. located within hospital reservation, large grassy lawn, set away other structures.

navy hospital pharmacists quarters

two naval hospital pharmacists quarters built on base, building 648 1 of two. these assigned warrant officers housing. built in 1926 navy yard, puget sound, captain w.h. alien, u.s.n., , public works officer. small brick building, 35 25 feet (10.7 7.6 m) georgian details. both quarters on gatewood avenue. 2 story frame building, gable roof , brick exterior. georgian motifs include fanlight on entry door, rectangular window openings , round window within gable. in 1946 became corps officer s quarters naval hospital. in 1948 became naval hospital s personnel officer s quarters. when hospital moved oyster bay location in 1980, assigned naval base officer s quarters. building 648 rectangular brick 2 story residence basement.
