Description Chippenham railway station

immediately west of station lies grade ii listed chippenham viaduct designed brunel in 1841. first arch, on new road, appears have been modelled on roman triumphal arch. has 26-foot (8 m) span , flanked 2 smaller pedestrian arches of 10 feet (3 m). surmounted heavy cornice , parapet. north side constructed bath stone ashlar brick patching while south side in blue brick following widening in 1900s.


platform 1 used westbound great western main line services towards bristol temple meads, west country, south wales , used wessex main line services towards southampton central. platform 2 used eastbound services towards london paddington , cheltenham spa. on disused platform there cycle storage, seating area , café.
