route 248 begins @ intersection trans-canada highway (route 1) in community of cornwall. route 248 proceeds eastward along ferry road through cornwall, two-lane residential street. crossing on mill creek, route leaves community of cornwall town of cornwall, continuing east through flat lands near charlottetown. paralleling mcewens creek, ferry road reaches junction york point road, route 248 turns north on york point. crossing through rural section of cornwall, route runs north along north river, reaching commercial section of town, enters at-grade interchange route 1.


just north of interchange, route intersects eastern terminus of route 235 (kingston road). after route 235, route 248 crosses northwest town of warren grove, becomes north york river road, two-lane rural road. paralleling north river, route 248 bends northward fork terminus of route 225. north of route 225, route 248 continues north, no longer designated collector highway, through town of warren grove, crossing village of miltonvale park. retaining north york river road moniker, route 248 reaches shores of north river, crossing between river , numerous residences on southbound lanes.


after curve northeast, route crosses on river , runs northeast junction route 2. junction serves northern terminus of route 248, west of center of miltonvale park.
