japan, had won bronze medal in first olympic baseball tournament , silver medal in second, once again made semifinals in third. japanese team defeated netherlands, italy, australia, , africa lost 3 teams finished @ top of group: united states, korea, , cuba. in semifinals, japan played cuba second time in many games, losing again two-time gold medallists. playing bronze medal against korea, japanese team again defeated.
