the prince george cougars played 1994–95 season @ prince george coliseum, along tier ii prince george spruce kings, until construction of team s own arena complete. cougars logo first season in prince george closely resembled of victoria cougars . 1995–96 season, cougars moved new home, prince george multiplex, since renamed cn centre. new logo unveiled same season.


the cougars first made playoffs in 1996–97 whl season under coach stan butler. cougars successful playoff run came during 2006–07 season. prince george achieved first sweep of kamloops blazers in best-of-seven-game series, proceeded defeat top-ranked everett silvertips in 6 games , reached western conference finals third time, lost in 5 games eventual 2007 memorial cup champions, vancouver giants.


the cougars team in whl history draft 2 brothers in first round of whl bantam draft. jesse forsberg, defenceman, drafted 11th overall cougars in 2008, , younger brother alex, centre, taken first overall in 2010.
