early life
terri clark born on august 5, 1968, in montreal, quebec, canada. clark s family settled in medicine hat, alberta, raised. third of 4 children: has younger brother, peter, , 2 older sisters, kim , tina. clark s grandparents, ray , betty gauthier, both noted canadian country musicians, having opened artists such george jones , johnny cash. clark s mother, linda, had belonged canadian folk scene. parents divorced when young , mother remarried. clark s last name taken man whom mother had married.

fearless, clark s fourth studio album, issued in september 2000. during album s production, clark started writing more personal songs new team of co-writers , hired new producer deliver set of songs more acoustic feel of previous work. album s first single, little gasoline , late addition album because mercury executives felt clark needed balance new material had more familiar feel it. song reached top ten in canada, however, reaching no. 13 in united states.

in june 2006, clark signed bna records, division of sony bmg label group, known sony music entertainment. clark s first single label, dirty girl , issued in 2007. song followed in next life , title track debut bna release. clark, along canadian country band emerson drive, opened big & rich in canada, hoping promote new album. next life delayed several times , remained unreleased leaving clark part ways bna in november 2008, concentrate more on career in canada , possibly launch own record label.
clark released live album, terri clark live: road rage, via clark s own baretrack records label in july 2009 through digital retailers. clark s seventh studio album, long way home, released shortly after retailers in canada , digital retailers in united states on september 1, 2009 via baretrack/capitol nashville/emi canada. album released non-digital retailers in united states on october 20, 2009.
