1829: plymouth port jackson

she sailed plymouth on 18 october 1829 carrying 200 convicts , arrived @ port jackson on 18 february 1830.


1832: woolwich van diemen s land

the voyage began cholera outbreak on board day sailed woolwich. anchored in plymouth sound ordered put sea again after receiving medical supplies , services of assistant surgeon royal navy. returned thames estuary , laid in stangate creek until end of march before being allowed resume voyage. of 222 convicts aboard, 30 men developed cholera , 13 died before set sail woolwich in february 1832 bound van dieman s land (arriving on 16 july) carrying 222 male convicts under command of captain james berry.


1837: gravesend adelaide

she sailed gravesend on 27 july 1837 , arrived @ holdfast bay on 17 october 1837 under command of captain alfred fell. carried 177 passengers on voyage south australia during 1837. passengers came england , ireland. there 6 aged on thirty, of whom 5 paid own way. there 129 aged between fifteen , thirty, of whom 4 required pay, , there forty-two aged under fifteen, of whom granted free passage.


the voyage left england 1 month after king william iv died , princess victoria ascended throne. on arrival adelaide public proclamation made regarding death of king william iv , accession of queen victoria.


1838: launceston port adelaide

departed launceston, arrived port adelaide on 17 june 1838. recorded passenger mr john brown.


1839: london adelaide

she departed london on 20 october 1838 , after stop @ cape of hope]], arrived in adelaide on 21 march 1839.


1840: adelaide london

departed port adelaide on 11 april 1840, carrying former governor of south australia, george gawler, aide-de-camp, james collins hawker , gardener , derbyshire botanist, joseph whittaker. vessel delayed 5 days @ kingscote on kangaroo island in order fill wood , water journey. called in @ mauritius , st helena , stopped @ corvo in azores 2 hours obtain provisions. vessel reached england on 23 september 1840. journey england described in detail in hawker s 1899 book, experiences in south australia. pressed plant specimens collected joseph whittaker island stops katherine steward forbes made en route subsequently supplied kew gardens.


1840: london wellington

under captain john hobbs, left gravesend on 5 february 1841 , arrived @ port nicholson on 24 june 176 emigrants.
