san diego chargers

on march 12, 2013, whittaker claimed off waivers san diego chargers. on september 28, 2013, released chargers.


cleveland browns

on september 30, 2013, whittaker claimed off waivers cleveland browns. on may 12, 2014, whittaker released cleveland browns.


carolina panthers

on july 27, 2014, whittaker signed carolina panthers after injury panthers rookie running tyler gaffney occurred previous day. after strong preseason showing, made initial 53-man roster, announced on august 30, 2014. on january 3, 2015, in wild card round of playoffs, whittaker scored crucial 39-yard, go-ahead touchdown in third quarter against arizona cardinals, helping panthers 27-16 victory enabled them advance divisional round of playoffs. in whittaker s second year team, panthers finished season franchise-record 15 wins. in first 2 rounds of playoffs, defeated seattle seahawks , arizona cardinals. on february 7, 2016, whittaker part of panthers team played in super bowl 50.in game, whittaker had 4 carries 26 yards, 1 catch 14 yards, , 2 tackles on special teams, panthers fell denver broncos score of 24–10.


in 2016 season, whittaker appear in 16 regular season games. had 57 carries 265 yards , 25 receptions 226 yards.


on september 18, 2016, whittaker ran 100 yards on 16 carries against san francisco 49ers when jonathan stewart left in first quarter hamstring injury. on october 2, caught 9 passes 86 yards against atlanta falcons.


on march 8, 2017, whittaker signed two-year contract extension.
