in 1908 mr edward fass purchased newspaper , sold interest in 1928. on 21 december 1928, under editorship of mr michael james o donohue, newspaper changed format tabloid , altered masthead south coast bulletin. first issue title published on 21 december 1928. in 1930 new editor, mr norman sydney woodroffe, appointed.


during 1930s south coast bulletin published weekly on friday. focused on local issues , involved in promoting south coast holiday resort . included information on pioneers of region, reported on items of interest local residents , advocated improvement of steadily growing region known gold coast, queensland.

the south coast bulletin became gold coast bulletin in 1963. final issue south coast bulletin masthead published on 3 may 1963.
