david van der plas became famous portrait painter, , illustrious patron cornelis tromp. in 1684 married cornelia van der gon of haarlem, daughter of castellan (kastelein) of oude doelen, meeting quarters of haarlem schutterij (the building houses stadsbibliotheek haarlem). david van der plas brother-in-law painter govert van der leeuw , pupil jacob appel.
