the men s short program held on march 30. free skate held on april 1.



ladies

the ladies short program held on march 31. free skate took place on april 2, 2016. gracie gold took 2.45 point lead after short program. anna pogorilaya edged out evgenia medvedeva second place 0.22. ashley wagner, nationals bronze medalist, out of medal position, 0.60 behind medvedeva. 2015 world bronze medalist elena radionova in fifth, while former world champion mao asada in ninth. defending world champion elizaveta tuktamysheva not selected federation event after finishing 8th @ russian championships. in free skate, medvedeva had record-setting score of 150.10 win gold medal. wagner moved second place win united states first world championship ladies medal since 2006. pogorilaya finished third ahead of gold.

the pairs short program held on april 1 , free skate on april 2.



ice dancing

the short dance held on march 30. 2015 world champions gabriella papadakis , guillaume cizeron of france obtained small gold medal short dance first time in career. followed 2 american teams. 2011 world bronze medalists maia shibutani / alex shibutani placed second (-1.59) while 2015 silver medalists madison chock / evan bates took third position, 2.24 behind shibutanis.


the free dance held on march 31, 2016. papadakis/cizeron set new world record free dance (118.17 points) , won second consecutive world title. shibutanis returned world podium 4 years after first medal. chock/bates took bronze medal, marking third time u.s. has finished 2 ice dancing teams on world podium (earlier: 1966, 2011). cappellini/lanotte rose fourth while weaver/poje finished fifth.
