on 23 january 2014, vargas joined la liga club valencia on loan rest of 2013–14 season. vargas played first official match los che in 3–2 away win @ camp nou against champions barcelona on 1 february 2014. scored first la liga goal against real betis, in 5–0 home win.


vargas recorded 2 goals , 3 assists in 8 appearances valencia reached semi-finals of 2013–14 uefa europa league.


queens park rangers (loan)

on 21 august 2014, vargas joined queens park rangers on loan until end of 2014–15 premier league season. made debut club on 14 september against manchester united, replacing charlie austin last 31 minutes @ old trafford. on 19 october, in 2–3 loss against liverpool @ loftus road, vargas scored twice after coming on substitute bobby zamora in 78th minute. on 26 december, in 2–1 loss arsenal, vargas helped goalkeeper robert green save penalty alexis sánchez pointing out way fellow chilean shoot ball.


on 22 march 2015, vargas scored first goal in 5 months in qpr s 1–2 home defeat everton. scored in team s 4–1 victory @ west bromwich albion on 4 april, injured knee ligament in match, ruling him out remainder of season. season ended qpr finishing bottom of league, resulting in relegation championship.
