series 1 (2004)



series 1 of hell s kitchen in uk broadcast 23 may – 6 june 2004, airing live nightly 2 weeks.


the premise head chef gordon ramsay teaching ten celebrities how cook. celebrities placed in specially constructed london restaurant-kitchen task of catering clientele of famous people. eliminations determined series of public votes (in style of big brother).


jennifer ellison declared winner. follow-up programme made afterwards called hell s kitchen: school reunion, saw ellison , show runner-up, james dreyfus, team organise healthy dinner service children @ ramsay s former school, stratford upon avon high school.

series 2 of hell s kitchen in uk broadcast 18 april – 2 may 2005.


the format overhauled show turned competition between 2 kitchens run celebrity chefs gary rhodes , jean-christophe novelli. second series featured ten members of public competing prize of £250,000, winner start or own restaurant. split 2 teams of six, 1 red (tutored gary rhodes) , other blue (led jean-christophe novelli). new , larger restaurant built accommodate fact there 2 kitchens.


the things remained same in second series music, composer daniel pemberton, , presenter, still angus deayton. elimination still down voting.


the series won terry miller.

series 3 (2007)

series 3 due begin in mid-2006, jean-christophe novelli sole head chef; however, itv made decision take break producing hell s kitchen. network announced in february 2007 had commissioned new series of show, begin in late 2007.


the new series began on 3 september 2007 @ 9:00 pm. michelin starred marco pierre white new head chef. white had 2 sous chefs, matthew , timothy. series reverted original format of having celebrities contestants.


the series ended on 17 september 2007, barry mcguigan crowned winner.

series 4 (2009)

series 4 began on 13 april 2009. marco pierre white returns head chef/teacher. claudia winkleman took on host, replacing angus deayton. nick munier returned maitre d , did sous chefs matthew , timothy. series there 1 kitchen grey , dark red tiles. first 4 sackings marco s responsibility, while other 4 sackings down public vote (the person lowest amount of votes left hell s kitchen).


linda evans won public voting on 27 april 2009.
