two more black knights-style sets released in 1990; 1 6059 knights stronghold town gate set featured 1 mounted knight, 4 soldiers, along big catapult, , 6034 black monarch s ghost, set included lone mounted knight , glow-in-the-dark ghost. 6081 king s mountain fortress, knights stronghold , black monarch s ghost featured newly invented helmet visor , armor breastplate pieces knights. these 2 sets among last lego castle sets carry legoland banner. 2 1990 castle sets re-released in 1992 lego system banner on boxes, instruction booklets of sets still had legoland banner. changes made 1992 re-release sets horse saddles. saddles changed 1 clip 2 clips since 1992 year introduced altered lego horse saddle.


when black knights officially launched in 1992, dungeon master s castle (renamed black knights castle in 1994) released replace black monarch s castle. number of new entities created new sets, including new oval shape shields carried mounted knights, different dragon design shields, ornate new kind of helmet, new shirt designs mini-figures, , new dragon plumes available in 4 different colors (just feather plumes). movable visors older helmets redesigned accommodate plumes on sides, not on top. older dragon triangular shield still used in sets infantry , guards. these sets, along wolfpack, first castle sets have minifigures mustache , beard faces. 2 other main black knights sets released same year black knights castle in 1992. 6057 sea serpent (the biggest lego castle boat ever released in 1990s) , 6009 black knight, small set included single, full armored knight, along accessories. older sets such knights stronghold , black monarch s ghost retroactively included part of black knights.


as 6059 knights stronghold , 6057 sea serpent featured black falcons, suggested 2 factions rivals, particularly in knights stronghold black knights defend gates against black falcons siege. black knights opponents wolfpack renegades (the 1992 catalogue diorama shows black knights soldiers pursuing wolfpack renegade wagon, while black knight s castle contains wolfpack figure prisoner) , dragon masters (the 1993 catalogue diorama shows majisto wizard on dragon engaging black knights). black falcons , lion knights/crusaders


the black knights series continued until end of 1994 when superseded royal knights in 1995. 1 of last black knights sets released 1917 king s catapult in 1993, miniset included knight manned tiny catapult. re-released in 1998.
