spyker bought vijay mallya during 2007 , became force india 2008. initial 2008 testing being carried out in reliveried f8-viibs, definitive version of force india vjm01 – still largely based on f8-viib – made testing debut on february 25, 2008. team continued use 2007-specification ferrari engines due low price. although team came close fourth-place finish @ monaco grand prix, points not forthcoming, , force india ended season @ bottom of constructors championship standings, ahead of super aguri had withdrawn championship after 4 races.



in 2011, force india teamed artist dexter brown produce art car. car hand painted vjm01 set auctioned charity @ first indian grand prix. actual car used vjm01-05, raced giancarlo fisichella in sixteen of eighteen races in 2008.
