in following dynasties, universal conscription abolished , reintroduced on numerous occasions.


as of 2011, universal military conscription theoretically mandatory in people s republic of china, , reinforced law. however, due large population of china , large pool of candidates available recruitment, people s liberation army has had sufficient volunteers, conscription has not been required in practice @ all.
