fletcher s junior club paddington colts in eastern suburbs district junior rugby league. started top-level career @ sydney roosters in second row in 1997 arl season. despite 24 national rugby league appearances, fletcher selected australian team compete in end of season 1999 rugby league tri-nations tournament. in final against new zealand played @ second-row forward in kangaroos 22-20 victory. on years fletcher gain 13 caps australian national side , play 14 games new south wales in state of origin matches.


one of highlights of fletcher s sydney roosters career appearance @ second-row forward in 2000 nrl grand final, first in 20 years. helped australia inflict humiliating defeat on new zealand national team 52–0 3–0 whitewash of queensland in state of origin series.


fletcher achieved more success in 2002 season. played roosters interchange bench in 30-8 win on new zealand warriors in 2002 nrl grand final in front of 80,130 fans @ telstra stadium. fletcher s final appearance club (making total of 125 appearances red, white , blue) before moving rivals south sydney rabbitohs.
