in 1642 laks formed gazikumukh khanate. state ruled supreme council, constituted viziers, chief qadis, warlords, , ruler. rulers of kazi-kumukh took active part in anti-iranian movement in shirvan , dagestan. in 1725 surkhay-khan received title of khan of shirvan , kazi-kumukh. during period 1734-1741 kazi-kumukh thrice invaded persians. in 1738 murtazali-khan, @ head of dagestan army, defeated persians in daria, , in 1741 in andalal. later khanate fought russia, , in 1820 russian general madatov captured kazi-kumukh.
