brentford opened in 1990 armchair passenger transport, house buses won route 260. had been used base coach operations, @ time armchair s main business. in november 2004 armchair bought out metroline s parent comfortdelgro, although continued operate buses separately under armchair name until 2007.


armchair s coach business continues operate under own name, , includes commuter coach services , private hire.

this garage opened in may 1905 , called dollis hill. first motorised depot used london general omnibus company , 1 of london s oldest bus garages.


edgware (ew)

as of february 2017, edgware garage operated routes 107, 113, 186, 204 , 240, 606, n5, n98 , n113.


history

when edgware garage first opened london general omnibus company in 1925 had space 24 buses, there plenty of room adjacent built underground station. in 1939 new building erected next original one, become new bus station, while remaining open parking area used store vehicles trolleybus replacement programme. in 1984 new 100-bus garage built on old railway land @ cost of £4.5 million. however, in 1992 edgware garage earmarked closure, cricklewood garage become functioning garage new facilities. outdoor parking area , bus station became midibus base in 1993, new bus wash , light maintenance facilities provided in yard. in 1999 london sovereign, had won recent tenders in north east london area, took on 10-year lease on half of edgware garage , invested in new maintenance facilities replace former base @ borehamwood. in late 2000 metroline moved other half of garage, making 1 of few garages shared 2 operators.


harrow weald (hd)

as of february 2017, harrow weald garage operated routes 140, 182, 640, h12 , n18.


history

harrow weald garage opened in 1930 london general omnibus company replace smaller south harrow garage. new garage had extended on forecourt 2 years later provide additional space. in earlier years garage used experimental vehicles including daimler ch6s , first diesel bus (st). in 1987 harrow weald base new harrow buses operation set london transport had won tenders new local network. garage survived collapse of harrow buses , passed metroline, , in 1994 short of 60 buses based there. garage carries out engineering work on buses based @ edgware garage.

history

originally opened holloway tram depot in 1907, largest of london county council s sheds, space 336 trams. renamed highgate in 1950 (by time trolleybus depot) avoid confusion holloway (j) bus garage, , holloway in 1971 following closure of original holloway garage. garage had allocation of 210 buses, although drifted downwards until 1993, when closure of chalk farm , transfer of 5 routes garage meant holloway once again full. today garage @ capacity levels, around 200 buses allocated in addition outstation @ kings cross.


king s cross (kc)

as of february 2017, king s cross operates routes 46, 214 , 274.

opened in 1930 @ cost of on £48,000 london general omnibus company subsidiary overground , closed in 1960s far north useful london bus network. survived faced closure again in 1980s during deregulation. time saved after crews accepted revised pay agreement , depot tendered , won hertfordshire county council routes. during second world war , in run-up festival of britain, garage used storage facility buses. in 1952 garage allocation consisted entirely of aec regent iii rts, 68 daily requirement. in 1973 experimental frm1 allocated garage single bus route 284 , lasted there until 1976. garage has seen mix of buses on years, ranging ford minibuses , class dodges volvo ailsas , route-branded x43 scanias transferred when finchley garage closed. depot run non-tfl routes.


willesden (ac)

as of february 2017, willesden garage operated routes 6, 52, 98, 260, 302, 460 , n98.


history

opened in 1902, willesden used major chassis overhauls before chiswick works opened in 1921. during world war ii used provide major body overhauls. prior war allocation consisted of sts , stls whilst rts , rtws main allocation afterwards. prototype aec routemaster rml3 allocated garage in 1958, , ran first production routemasters on route 8 in 1959. these moved on trolleybus replacement later year routemasters reappeared in 1965 replace rtws. improvements garage made in 1975 enlarge capacity 90 120 in order stonebridge allocation moved in, although talk of providing staff housing on site never materialised , stonebridge work did not move willesden, westbourne park. in 1994 metroline became first ex london buses company expand when bought atlas bus & coach, regaining route 52 had earlier lost under tendering although continued operated harlesden until 1995.


on 11 december 2010, route 460 transferred garage.
