on 29th of november, 2012 number of refugees reached 45,000, while total number of syrian refugees in jordan approximately 230,000.
on 10th of january, 2013 total camp population reached 65,000 comprising 22% of total syrian refugees in jordan.
on 5th of february, 2013 number of refugees in camp reached 76,000, while total number of syrian refugees in jordan more 345,000.
in march 2013, syrian security forces started large-scale security campaign in southern regions of syria, resulting in significant increase in refugees crossing borders jordan. 11 march there more 156,000 refugees in camp. these estimates make zataari fourth largest city in jordan.
on 30 april 2014, refugee camp opened in azraq. newly arrived refugees taken azraq, while number of refugees in zaatari have steadily depleted. september 2014, number of refugees in zaatari has fallen 79,000, according latest figures unhcr.
