the law school s primary academic offering 4-year law program leading degree of juris doctor. aside j.d. program, offers review program philippine bar examination, mandatory continuing legal education program, seminars, conferences, , talks covering various issues. faculty , students engage in research published in, among other places, ateneo law journal.

juris doctor program

the ateneo law school offers complete 4-year program leading degree of juris doctor (j.d.). j.d. degree first conferred on school year 1990-1991 graduates. ateneo first law school in philippines offer j.d. in lieu of bachelor of laws degree, still law schools in philippines offer today.

the ateneo jd program covers different aspects of legal study required admission practice of law. among key subjects constitutional , political law, civil law, criminal law, remedial law, commercial law, international law, tax law, , legal ethics. there particular emphasis on legal , judicial ethics, subjects on legal philosophy , history, legal profession, theology , church social teachings, , ethics being part of core ateneo law program.

beginning academic year of 2011, law school offer international master of laws program ( llm program ). discussions , plans llm program began in 2007 , headed associate dean sedfrey candelaria.

the llm program one-year program summer term , 2 academic semesters. in summer term, students taken introductory classes including introduction philippine hybrid legal system (for foreign students), seminar on contemporary developments in international law, methods of research , statistics, fundamentals of thesis writing, , seminar on comparative studies.

in each of first , second semesters of regular academic year, students enroll in @ least 10 units of major elective courses under ll.m. program, following area of specializations. there 5 planned areas of specialization asean legal practice, international human rights, international corporate , business law, international economic law, , international commercial arbitration. llm program culminates preparation , defense of thesis.

master of laws in intellectual property law

the law school entered agreement intellectual property office of philippines offer masters of laws degree in intellectual property law ( llm in ipl ). llm in ipl offered in law school starting june 2011. upon satisfactory completion of program, students awarded “masters of laws degree in intellectual property” ateneo de manila university , intellectual property office.

bar review program
