deezer launched in france in 2007. on 7 december 2011, deezer, @ time available in belgium, france , united kingdom, announced plans expand worldwide during rest of 2011 , continuing 2012. according company, planned make services available whole of europe end of year, americas (excluding united states) end of january 2012, africa , southeast asia end of february, , rest of world (excluding japan) end of june.


it took until 15 march 2012 service available across whole of europe, while service launched in australia, canada, , new zealand on 25 april. on 8 june, deezer announced availability in 35 latin american countries, though not in brazil, cuba, or venezuela. on 15 august, deezer announced available in indonesia, malaysia, pakistan, philippines, singapore, , thailand within several weeks.


on 8 october 2012, deezer announced had received $130 million in funding access industries, used further international expansion. 2 days later, company announced had expanded 76 new markets, bringing worldwide total 160 countries. on 21 december, deezer announced new service level offering 2 hours of free, ad-supported music streaming month, available users worldwide, company s first free music streaming service outside france. ceo dauchez said deezer looking partner introduce service in united states, able provide significant volume of subscribers offset called unbelievably high costs of entering market.


as of december 2012, deezer had 3 million users paying subscriptions, out of monthly active user base of 7 million, 20 million songs in library. 2016, according ceo dauchez, company aimed have 5 percent of global music market.


in january 2013, deezer announced expansion 22 new countries across africa, asia, brazil, middle east, , united states, bringing total 182. however, united states launch has been restricted limited number of device promotions. in july 2016, deezer added supported country list. of july 2016, deezer listed on website 187 countries service available.
