south boise prison complex
the south boise prison complex located in unincorporated ada county, 5 miles (8 km) south of boise airport , 9 miles (15 km) east of kuna. has 6 prison facilities , 1 community work center.
the correctional alternative placement program (capp) facility (43°27′42″n 116°14′08″w / 43.46167°n 116.23556°w / 43.46167; -116.23556) opened july 1, 2010. management , training corporation of ogden, utah built facility , operates program. capp offers intensive treatment programs substance abuse , cognitive issues 432 low moderate risk male offenders needing substance abuse treatment. houses 3 different groups of offenders: probationers, parolees , retained jurisdiction.

idaho state correctional institution
idaho maximum security institution (imsi) (43°28′47″n 116°13′24″w / 43.47972°n 116.22333°w / 43.47972; -116.22333) high-security state prison. opened in november 1989 confine idaho s violent offenders. compound located within double perimeter fence reinforced razor wire, electronic detection system , 24-hour armed perimeter patrol. offender population includes large number of mental health offenders, including subjects of civil commitments. thirty beds dedicated prisoners acute mental illness. imsi has restrictive housing beds dedicated administrative segregation, disciplinary detention , death row. remaining beds allocated close-custody general population offenders.
south boise women s correctional center (sbwcc) (43°28′54″n 116°13′51″w / 43.48167°n 116.23083°w / 43.48167; -116.23083) opened in march 2002 @ site of former community work center. program-specific, minimum-custody facility designed female offenders sentenced retained jurisdiction commitment court. provides sentencing alternative courts target offenders might, after period of programming , evaluation, viable candidates probation rather incarceration. facility has safe operating capacity of 248.
south idaho correctional institution (sici) (43°28′33″n 116°12′42″w / 43.47583°n 116.21167°w / 43.47583; -116.21167) minimum-security prison. receives mail through post office box in boise. sici working facility, houses male minimum custody offenders in dormitory setting. lot of offenders need work , maintain work show parole board can handle being responsible along programming. offenders choose work have apply available positions , expected work whether inside or outside facility compound. sex offenders not allowed go off compound work. road crews idaho transportation department , fire fighting crews u.s. forest service located here. sici houses offenders have completed sentence (toppers). toppers not have work if choose not to. sici operates final pre-release program 90 percent of offenders paroling system.
the south idaho correctional institution-community work center (cwc) houses minimum-custody male offenders in dormitory setting. offenders assigned job , work inside or outside facility. vocational work projects include road crews idaho transportation department , conservation , fire fighting crews u.s. forest service. offenders serve workers in correctional industries program. operates pre-release program majority of offenders paroling system.

idaho correctional institution-orofino (icio) (46°29′31″n 116°15′39″w / 46.49194°n 116.26083°w / 46.49194; -116.26083) modified old state school , hospital mental health building in orofino. new wing added in 1988. standard prison designed male offenders of custody levels. facility houses protective custody offenders. until april 1994, state s female offenders housed in 1 tier here, due litigation, females housed @ pocatello women s correctional center. offender work programs, including correctional industries, coordinated schooling, counseling , recreational opportunities. facility has safe operating capacity 541.
north idaho correctional institution
north idaho correctional institution (nici) (46°04′48″n 116°25′41″w / 46.08°n 116.428°w / 46.08; -116.428), northwest of cottonwood. former radar station of u.s. air force below cottonwood butte, has been in state correction system since 1974.
pocatello women s correctional center
pocatello women s correctional center (pwcc) (42°50′33″n 112°27′02″w / 42.84250°n 112.45056°w / 42.84250; -112.45056) prison women located in southwestern portion of pocatello. opened in april 1994. designed house custody levels of female offenders. facility first of kind department of corrections, , designed meet special needs of female offenders , programs. facility has operating capacity of 289 female offenders , houses custody levels.
st. anthony work camp
st. anthony work camp (sawc) (43°58′05″n 111°41′37″w / 43.96806°n 111.69361°w / 43.96806; -111.69361) located in st. anthony. designed house 240 low-risk, minimum , community-custody male offenders. facility s primary focus provide vocational work project opportunities offering full-time, constructive, paid employment offenders. accomplished through contracted work , public service projects government agencies, non-profit organizations , private employers. program helps offenders develop work habits, positive work ethic , marketable work skills while providing financial resource meet immediate , future needs.
