jhansi besieged company forces of general hugh rose in march , april 1858 , captured on 4 april 1858. rani lakshmi bai able make daring escape on horseback fort , city before city pillaged rose s troops.


in 1861 british government gave jhansi fort , jhansi city jiyaji rao scindia, maharaja of gwalior, british took jhansi gwalior state in 1868.
